- Quayside Holdings
Over the last few years, Quayside Holdings – the investment arm of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council – has seen its public profile grow. And the need for a stronger brand identity has grown with it. So when Quayside came to us looking for a new website, the brief soon evolved into creating a whole new brand and visual identity. An identity that could be rolled out across the company’s long list of collateral and incorporate the three arms of the business.
Quayside is made up of three sub-entities; Quayside Holdings, Quayside Securities, and Quayside Properties. This meant they needed a visual identity with the room for all three arms to have their own look and feel, while still falling under the same overarching Quayside umbrella.
Building on Quayside’s existing “Q” logo, we used the letter’s tail to represent the three Quayside entities – with the circle representing the globe that ties everything together.
The “Q”s three tails also represent ships coming into port, tying into both the brand’s name and the core of their business. We gave each entity its own unique version of the master logo, using colour to define them – blue for Holdings, grey for Properties, and black for Securities. This gave Quayside three separate sub-brands, linked together under one cohesive visual identity.
The outcome was a modern and flexible visual identity that can be applied to any touchpoint the business might need – from business cards, letterheads, and annual reports, to building signage, financials, and shareholder documents.
